The Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC is our foremost encyclopedic museum in the US, and just celebrated its 150th year in existence. Dr. McDonald worked at the museum in various departments and capacities and will tell us the backstories of the Egyptian Department and the opening of the spectacular Temple of Dendur; the complex history of the stunning art of Oceania, Africa, and the Americas wing, and other highlights of the museum’s fantastic collection, including the Impressionist painting collection and her work on the Ancient Near Eastern Department’s reinstallation.
