The Albuquerque International Association (AIA) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to enriching the lives of the community by creating a vibrant intellectual environment dealing with foreign affairs, international business, culture and art. The Association’s mission is to increase public understanding of the world in which the US plays such an important role, as well as to contribute to the internationalization of the City of Albuquerque.
AIA is created for the Albuquerque community by the Center for International studies, a non-profit corporation. No longer “a city at the end of the world”, Albuquerque is undergoing dramatic growth, redefining its identity and is integrated into the world at large in different ways. AIA provides a forum for enlightenment, intellectual challenge, discussion and fun, offering high-quality information on the most important and controversial issues of the day. It serves as an educational resource for multiple generations, from high-school and university students to professionals and retirees. AIA’s flexible format includes an international lecture series, world affairs and international business discussions, a book club, an international cuisine club and trips abroad.
AIA puts together multiple social events for its members. We have special ethnic dinners or receptions after the lectures, balancing the haute intellectual cuisine with culinary delights from around the world. Other special events include guided tours of exhibitions and trips abroad.
