A Special Invitation to Help Secure the Future of AIA 

With its wide range of stimulating lectures, educational outreach programs, international travel opportunities and other enriching activities, the Albuquerque International Association accomplishes as much for the community as organizations two or three times its size. But cost-effective use of limited resources can go only so far. In order to continue these programs and plan for the future, AIA needs a secure financial footing. To accomplish this, the Board of Directors has launched a Major Gift Campaign.

The concept is simple: Those of us who get so much, intellectually, culturally and socially, from the association are joining together to contribute $2,500 or more apiece to create a solid base. These major gifts can be pledged over as many as five years. Thus, $500 a year constitutes a $2,500 gift; $2,000 a year constitutes $10,000. A multi-year pledge assures AIA continuing security that can allow the organization to raise global awareness and make Albuquerque an even more vibrant international community. For example, your generosity can help enable the board and the president to book in-demand lecturers before their schedules fill up.

Made through AIA’s umbrella, the Center for International Studies, a 501(c)3 organization, contributions to the Major Gift Campaign are tax deductible for most donors. Major gifts to AIA/CFIS can also be made through the United Way of Central New Mexico. Making your gift in the form of appreciated stock may magnify its impact by allowing you to avoid capital gains tax. We will be happy to supply details.

Another Way to Support AIA: Bequests 

We invite you to join the other members of the Albuquerque International Association who have discovered an easy way to make a big difference in the association’s future without making a big difference in their current cash flow: creating a bequest. You don’t even have to alter your will. You can accomplish your goals through a simple codicil.

You can leave a specific amount (for example, $20,000) to the organization, or you can specify a percentage of your estate remaining after debts are paid (e.g., five per cent). The codicil can be easily revoked if your circumstances change and you find you may need the money.

Through a bequest to the Albuquerque International Association/Center for International Studies, your generosity will provide resources for the association to bring the community inspiring, insightful lectures, informative discussions, global travel opportunities, and international book, cuisine and film clubs. Your gift could enrich Albuquerque’s educational, intellectual and social environment for decades to come.
