AIA’s lecture in November will feature Ernie C’deBaca with the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce who will talk about his international travels over the years, from the Netherlands (his family moved there so that their boys could pursue professional soccer) to Papua New Guinea (in pursuit of the World Indigenous Business Forum) with many stops along the way. Ernie will also discuss the work that the Hispano Chamber’s Conventions and Tourism Department, and its International Trade Committee, does for our city and state.
Ernie C’deBaca has been President and CEO of the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce since 2017, and previously was Vice President of its Conventions and Tourism Department. In his current capacity, Ernie leads one of the largest Hispanic Chambers in the United States. The mission of the chamber is to promote economic development, to enhance economic opportunities and to provide business and workforce education with an emphasis on the Hispanic and small business community in Albuquerque and New Mexico.
Ernie retired from PNM Resources in 2016 after having worked there for 38 years and serving the past 20 years as its Vice President of Governmental Affairs. He currently serves on the Board of the US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the ABC Community Schools Board, the Air Force’s Global Strike Force, and was an Honorary Base Commander to the Nuclear Weapons Center. He has previously served on boards of the United Way, National Hispanic Cultural Center, as well as the Bernalillo County/City of Albuquerque Unification Charter Commission.
