Please join Rebecca Black, former acting USAID Mission Director in Tashkent, and her videographer spouse Greg Polk, as they explore the arts and architecture of the ancient Silk Road cities of Uzbekistan—Samarkand, Bukhara, and more.
They will present their 20-minute documentary titled “Embroidered Connections: Bukhara to Santa Fe” about the artisans of Bukhara and their preparation for the Santa Fe International Folk Art Market and follow up with a slide show on the famous cities, monuments and mosaics along the Silk Road.
Rebecca Black has over 30 years of experience in community and international development, 25 with USAID. Prior to coming to Uzbekistan, Rebecca served as the mission director in Cambodia, Mali, and as the deputy mission director in Afghanistan, among a number of international posts, with prior experience in the City of Boston, MA. Rebecca and Greg chose Corrales as their home base over 15 years ago.
