Book Club
The AIA Book Club features lively discussions about books covering international issues of importance. It meets five times annually: January, March, May, August, and October at an AIA member residence. The meetings are generally held on the last Thursday of the month at 7 pm, but occasionally, changes are made in the date if there are scheduling issues.
During the pandemic, meetings were on Zoom, but now the group has returned to mostly in-person meetings. The upcoming meeting will be in person—and probably all the ones during the summer months.
Upcoming Schedule:
March – The Feather Thief: Beauty, Obsession, and the Natural History Heist of the Century, by Kirk Wallace Johnson.
May – Tunnel 29: The True Story of an Extraordinary Escape Beneath the Berlin Wall, by Helen Merriman.
*Please note: The May Book Club will meet Monday, May 15, at 7 pm via zoom
August – The Quiet Before: On the Unexpected Origins of Radical Ideas, by Gal Beckermann.
October – Fallen Idols: Twelve Statues that Made History, by Alex Van Tunselmann.
If you are interested in participating, please send an email to info@abqinternational.org and we will put you in touch with the Book Club coordinator who will provide you with more details on the upcoming meetings.
